Ananda was an exchange student from Brasil that was studying for a semester in Coimbra. She was so great to come with us to teach people and she was also a great missionary always bringing her friends to English class and church. She was such a great friend.
The day she left we had a great last lesson and good bye and Ana Cristina's house.
The Cristinas. Ana Cristina (on the left) was a recent convert and was so excited about the gospel and the happiness that she had found. She was eager to share the wonderful message with her mother, Maria Cristina. Maria was super nice but had a hard time committing to the gospel. We had some funny lessons with them. One lesson we were teaching Maria and Ana about baptism and Maria Cristina said that she had no need to be baptized even though Jesus Christ who was perfect was baptized, she said that the only way that she would be baptized is if John the Baptist came down and baptized her. We obviously explained the great news that we have the same authority in the church that John the Baptist had. We mostly just had to laugh at all the funny things she said. It was always an adventure with the Cristinas.

was a friend of Vera (a member) and Vera introduced her to the gospel and to us. She lived out in an aldeia a little far from Coimbra so we taught her when she would come into town for school. She loved the gospel and it was so great to teach her because she actually understood our message and loved all the activities that the young single adults had. Her parents were super against her association with the church and even though she was 18 she still felt she should respect her parents wishes at the time and we had to stop teaching her.

Ananda's last day.
