I was called to serve on the Island of Madeira. I had only been in the mission four transfers and so it was pretty surprising that I was called to you there.
The call the Saturday before was pretty funny the assistants talked to Irma ray first and told her she would be serving with an Irma who I really wanted to serve with and so I was waiting to here where I would be going and then the assistant told me he needed me for a special assignment (last time I was a special case I found out I didn't have a companion in the MTC) I am not into the whole idea of being a special case but I asked what that would be. He said I would be opening an area, the area of Funchal. He asked if i knew where that was. I told him that I had no idea and then I asked Irma Ray if she knew and she hit me and then I realized I was going to MADEIRA!
Irma Salles and I were assigned to re-open the area. We slept at the mission home the night before because of our early morning flight. We had fun eating dinner with the president and enjoying a night with him and Irma Walton. We sat in the basement and President looks at us and says if you don't do a good job Irmas will no long be able to go there. (No pressure)
